About CPQ Designation and the Approval Process

A Louisiana clinical neuropsychologist, Dr. Lynn Aurich manages a private practice that offers group psychotherapy, neuropsychological evaluation, and psychodiagnostic testing. Dr. Lynn Aurich maintains a certificate of professional qualification (CPQ) in psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB).

Having the CPQ designation demonstrates a person has passed the recommended standards, including education and the examination for professional practice in psychology (EPPP), for certification set forth by the ASPPB. It also indicates a doctoral-level licensed psychologist has no record of reported disciplinary action.

All candidates must submit a completed CPQ application for consideration. Three reviewers, made up of ASPPB staff and mobility committee members, evaluate credentials and perform an analysis. Individually, reviewers decide if an applicant meets the requirements for approval. If all three do not concur, the application will be reviewed once more by the entire group to weigh in on acceptance. Applicants will receive written notification thereafter of their CPQ approval status.
